Safety

The safety of not only our employees, but also our members is a priority at LJEC. Safety is priority #1. Electricity plays an essential role in our daily lives but it can be very dangerous if it isn't treated with caution and respect. Failure to identify an electrical hazard or the improper use of electricty could be costly, harmful and/or deadly.
Below you will find helpful links on electrical safety for you and your family. You will also find information on the LJEC safety committee that includes members of line crews, tree crews and management, coming together, to ensure the employees of LJEC are working in a safe environment and follow the standards required by the various state and national safety organizations.

LJEC Safety Program
A group of employees from all areas of the cooperative form the nucleus of our Safety Committee. Regular meetings are held to ensure any safety issues in any area of the business are addressed in a timely manner. Our safety mission is "Zero In On Zero Accidents."

In addition to regular committee meetings, all cooperative employees are required to attend a monthly safety meeting. Each meeting is dedicated to safety in one area of the cooperative to ensure all employees have a general awareness of safety in all departments.
